Oh, I just know he's gonna see his shadow. And I know if Mr or Ms GroundHog does... that it's gonna mean six more weeks of THIS ! I don't know about you, but I have had just about as much of this kind of fun and any sane person could ever want or need.
Therefore... I am going to suggest that everyone on Active Rain who agrees with me... make sure you have some candles ready to light tomorrow, Monday, February 1st. The next day... as you probably know... is GroundHog Day.
How about you ? Have you had enough snow for this year yet ? Mentor, Ohio is just east of Cleveland, and we get a lot of what we call "lake effect snow." And this year, for some reason... we have had a lot of it.
So... get those candles lit tomorrow, puhleeze. And puhleeze Mr or Ms GroundHog. Take it easy on us...
I think in my 50+ years of tracking the groundhog, there has only been 1 year that he did NOT see his shadow. I'm ready for Spring whether Mr. Phil is or not.
Carolyn - I am ready for ground hod day, and I will light a candle. Thank you for the reminder.
Lisa, all we can possibly hope for is that the GroundHog will have mercy on us all this coming Wednesday. Maybe if the star of the GroundHog movie, Andi MacDowell, brings him some treats... it will sweeten him up.
John, I think we need as many candles to be lit as we can muster. Perhaps if we light enough, our little GroundHog friend will feel the warmth, and not throw more snow at us.
Fred, your comment really disappoints me. You took what I hoped would be a cute little "feel good" post about our GroundHog friend... and turned it inside out with your political nonsense. I am not amused.
Carolyn, I can tell you here in CT, Mr. Groundhog will not be able to get out of his hole. So... if he can't get out he can't see his shadow.. right?
Andrea, I am guessing that yes, you are quite correct. If that poor little guy cannot get out, all he'll be able to do is stay inside and watch cable. Hopefully he can find the GroundHog Day movie.
Carolyn, I'm a little late to weigh in on this, but you probably won't like what I have to say anyway. I actually miss the snow. I lived in Chicago for 40 years and still have a home there and when I say I miss the snow...I know what I'm talking about. You need to plan a few warm weather vacations...may I suggest Aruba! Love that movie!
Carolyn,
I'm thinking you need a short vacation to sunny (warm) Tucson, AZ!
Mike in Tucson
Nick, I don't actually HATE the snow. I just get tired of it when it just gets to be too much. And... I don't know about Aruba... but I might be talked into New Orleans, or perhaps the North Carolina coast.
Mike, I think, even from this great distance, that I have had my fill of Governor Jan Brewer, and Sheriff Joe. Nothing personal, now. Perhaps if I could sneak into town, and back out again, without them knowing about it, it could work... LOL.
Carolyn, just thought I'd check back and see how that Ground Hog thing was going for you. Aruba is like a desert in the middle of the ocean...great golfing...casinos...and weather...hurricanes never seem to hit it...I must admit though that I'm not that fond of being so close to Venezuela and the idiot that heads up that country.
Carolyn, I am late with my visit here. I hope by now, the snow is gone from Mentor and you are enjoying the signs of spring coming your way. Thank you for stopping by my National Gallery of Art post.
Carolyn, Thankfully it's starting to look like spring here in Tennessee!
Carolyn.
Just looking at that photo of the snow gives me a chill. We don't have snow here where I live in Northern California... we drive about 4 hours to Tahoe for snow. We have lots of rain and this year it seems like more than we've had in years past! I sure hope it's getting warmer for you by now. I'll look forward to future posts that show that the weather is warmer there in Mentor, OH.
Carolyn, you all had so much snow this year! We had only 18", and usually have an average of 50", so we are WAY behind!
Carolyn, that is much too much snow for me. Glad it's over... or at least, I HOPE it's over.
I recently read some pretty interesting posts... and thought you might like to see them. So... here are three posts by Active Rainers that tell all about what their blogs mean to them, and how they have helped them grow their business. Don't Doubt the Power of a Real Estate Blog...Your Prospects Found Me There by Chris Ann Cleland, Why don't you have a blog? by Elizabeth Cooper, and Still Looking For That Motivation To Blog???..... Well Here It Is by Martha Brown. Happy Reading !
Karen Anne, thankfully the cold weather is behind us - now if we can just get the tornadoes to calm down, things should be better.
Sharon
Sharon, uh huh. I am sure you are so tired of all that snow, slush and sleet you get down there in the Jacksonville area. Maybe things will warm up soon for you. :)
But... then again... it's supposed to hit 90 degrees here today. We shall see.
Hi Carolyn-here we have Jimmy the Groundhog in Sun Prairie Wi
